My friends and workmates always say I make beautiful bracelets. However I never took the compliments seriously, believing that everyone is capable of creating beautiful and meaningful charm bracelets. It just comes naturally.
But then I saw things like this:
Forgive me if I say bluntly that these are not easy on the eyes… But personally I reject the uncoordinated colors, the non-existent meaning and, as well as the unbalanced design.
Thus we begin our How to Design Your Charm Bracelet 101
Before you start
Before you start or buy, have an idea in mind. What will your creation stand for? Is this a design dedicated to your family and love, your passion, or a special moment you hold dear? Try not to purchase blindly, or you are likely to end up with tons of charms and no cohesive bracelet.
Well I’m going to a rock concert this Sunday and I’m putting on a bracelet and of course, that is, something rocky and glittering to go with my outfit, making me stand out in the crowd! Here is how I go:
Black. I know it’s a cliché that rock=black but what can you do, right? I decided to make a bracelet of black, silver and a bit of gold. Gold get it!
Yes skull, another cliché. I pick out the pink heart eyed skull as the centerpiece as I love the combination of sweet and gore. Then I lay the other 3 skull and skeleton charms by the side of the pink skull charm as I’m still weighing the combo of beads. In addition, they’re much easier to rearrange before you put them on the bracelet.
This step is easier. Casually insert the glass charms in the layout. Black and gold ones as I mentioned before~ You do not make sure the beads are symmetry, or I think it might actually backfire. Looking for a more whimsical result, I just add in the glass charms by instinct.
I’m done! Voila~ Quite happy with the result I am! But it is annoying that as every charmholic has been through, the beads keep sliding on the bracelet and my pink skull keeps turning head down. But I got my rubber charm stopper here to save the day. Just fix it in the charm and all your worries will be gone. Put the rubber stoppers in 2 or 3 charms and they will stand still and pretty
The Moment of Truth
So this is how the bracelet looks like. Sometimes more is more so I stacked them below.
